Children's Epilepsy Service - East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen
Description
The Childrens Epilepsy Service is a team of Doctors and Specialist Nurses who guide, support and advice children/ young people and their families within Blackburn and Darwen and East Lancashire. The core Team comprises of:
- Three Consultant Paediatricians with a special interest in Epilepsy
- Two specialist Nurses
- Administrative assistant
We have close links with colleagues in the Adult Epilepsy Service which is based at The Royal Preston Hospital and have established a nurse led Child/ young person /Adult Transition clinic on The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital site.
The service supports a childhood/young people population across, Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley with an age range of 0-19. We currently have over 630 registered patients within our service.

The team is based within The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and we run weekly clinics on a Monday alternating mornings and afternoons across Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Teaching Hospitals sites.
The two specialist nurses are based at The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital site and can be contacted between the hours of 8am -4.30pm Monday to Friday.
