The Brittle Bone Society

Description

Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a genetic bone disorder characterised by fragile bones that break easily. It is also known as brittle bone disease. A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her lifetime.

OI is a rare condition and it is estimated that the number of people born with it is approximately 1 in every 15,000: that equates to around 5000 individuals in the UK living with OI.

The Brittle Bone Society provide information and support to individuals living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), their families and friends, and the professionals working with them. We are here to help and we are always happy to answer your queries.

Knowing what support is available can sometimes be a challenge. To find out more about what we can offer please use the links below. You can also keep in touch with us via Facebook and Twitter.
