Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.

The physiotherapists use a variety of treatment approaches and involve patients in their own care through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease. Patients are encouraged to play an active role in their treatment, agreeing treatment goals and options and may involve commitment to a home exercise programme. In some cases advice on how to self manage a condition with exercises for example may be the first line of approach.
