Description
The aim of MOROs Clubs is to provide a safe and engaging environment with activities that will develop children and young people (CYP). The objectives are to enrich the opportunities available to CYP with SEND, facilitate a group for the promotion of personal and social interaction and encourage independence and life skills.
MOROs is an extended service provision at Morecambe Road School; managed, located and staffed by Morecambe Road School. It welcomes all children with additional needs – this includes pupils from Morecambe Road School and the local community.

The Club will be managed and staffed by school which means all Club staff have Enhanced DBS clearance and complete a Disqualification by Association Form. School policies apply to the staff and the operational running of the Club. These include the Staff Handbook, Child Protection, Complaints, Health and Safety, Staff Code of Conduct and Financial Regulations. Additionally, statutory and good practice is applied to the Clubs through risk assessments, COSHH, care plans and all relevant procedures.
MOROs staff receive training in manual handling, toileting, first aid, child protection, administration of medicines, behaviour management, pastoral care and strategies to develop social awareness and communication. The staff have the ability to apply their educational knowledge to engage CYP and enable learning through activities.
